Original review here, with this just covering how the digital edition compares.
As with the SoR digital remaster, Shaun Crook again proves to have the right ears: while the difference between this and the vinyl isn’t as distinct as in SoR 1 – I’d wager because by SoR 2, Koshiro was leaning more into a disco sound, which maps well to the more distinctive highs and lows in digital – there’s still enough of a change, even during a passing listen, to merit checking out both. The vinyl feels somewhat more “important” in that regard, as it adds depth and warmth to these dancey bangers, but it’s kinda awesome how immediate the digital version makes them, with electronic sounds appropriately sparkling in the format, and beats appropriately club-y. We’re sans a bonus track this time out, but that’s okay – you need to be able to listen to this when you’re on the go, and this is definitely the best master for you to do so.
