The IT Crowd

The IT Crowd: yes. It is what it is: two IT guys and their new lady boss (who knows nothing about computers) act IT-ish in a big company that does things we dont really know about. The show has the feeling of the little-show-that-could. Written by one guy, it achieves moments of hilarity but struggles through its first three seasons to settle on an identity between dry humor, zany humor, and sitcom humor. The characters are well-defined and likable, but the formulaic episodes (which are sitcom / zany combos) dont do much beyond chuckle, while the more refined episodes (dry / zany combos) seem to be what the show wants to be: a truly nerdy wander into the real world. Which is the little-show-that-could feeling. You get a sense that greatness is just around the corner, if The IT Crowd can stop worrying about trying to stay on the air. But such is the problem with many shows, yes? The light tech-flair to it and intense amount of background references to web and tech related memes should make IT-people happy, while the goofy characters should please brit-humor fans.
