Yup. What can I say? At this point you’re either watching this or you’re not. Casual viewers are probably better off with volume 2, but if you’re purchasing volume 4, you’re all about the crazy, because this in combination with the movie were the peak of random insanity (until the great volume 7) for Aqua Teen. I have no words for how awesome the episodes are here, nor can I even attempt to mention great moments, because everything is just a springboard for other weird greatness… greatness that somehow maintains sense throughout an episode and yet defies summary. …Carl and Meatwad compete to lose weight? …Master Shake kills himself to get inside a video game? …Gee Whiz impregnates Meatwad? …The Egyptian T-Shirt of the Dead makes Easter Bunnies? And the addition of Spacecataz to the opening – while intended as a separate show – is a welcome non-sequitur change to the Dr. Evil openings.
The knocked star is really only for the extras: while commentary is included, it sounds like it was recorded in a crowded room or live, so there’s so much background chatter it’s hard to pay attention to. Also, the ‘play all’ gag is funny, but I do wish there was a way to actually play all the episodes.
