Meh. This falls into the wasted potential category of Dead Girl. Teeth: if youre interested in watching it, you already know what its about. And Ill give it credit – it has guts with its gore, not flinching away from the below the belt going-ons. The premise is rife with so much potential, and the movie ends up being so gentle with its lead (in that shes not exactly simpering, not screaming… but she isnt handled gently by other characters)… it seems like all of the issues that are poked at prodded at – mainly sex and gender issues – would just dig at you in just the right way, but nothing really bubbles to the surface so much. Guys want to have sex with chicks, and the chicks vag gets some teethies and bites of their wangles. Throw in a wandering incest plot-line and some shots of snapped-off ping-pings and you have this movie, an coming-of-age indie flick with blood, but w/o the chops to really make any statements with its theme. 3 stars for a perfect premise and attempted realism in its handling of the matter.
