Robot Chicken Star Wars: Episode II

2 out of 5

Director: Seth Green

This reeks of leftover gags. In fact: thats what it is. In the extras, youll hear about how the success of part one made the creators feel like a part two was possible. Geek humor is fine, but these are like the fart jokes that didnt make the first cut. Some bits are even recycled, or tacked onto scenes from the first collection. There are some successful concepts (the bounty hunters), but they are explored in the wrong direction and never get quite as hilarious as it seems should be possible. Robot Chickens best moments exist due to the energy and momentum and try it all approach: throw it all on the screen and some things will stick. So while volume one had a good feeling of geek energy behind it, volume two suffers from too much focus, and trying to search for comedy where it just previously seemed to pop up unbidden.
