Director: Tom Holland

The MOH series seems to suffer from various afflictions – people purposefully going overboard to live up to the title (…Carpenter), people not knowing how to cram development and action into one hour (most of them have this problem), or people simply getting too goofball about the whole thing, which isnt bad, but leans more toward Tales From the Crypt than true horror. Tom Holland, though, found a good balance for this episode, taking a silly story but treating it pretty seriously, getting good acting from his principles and dashing some entertainingly sloppy gore into the latter half to keep the ante up. It does lose it a little toward the end, as many of these things do (…but many horror movies by these directors do as well, so there you go…), but overall this is a pretty good tone for the series. This shouldve been the expected bar instead of the unbalanced episodes that were mostly produced.
