Director: Fred Olen Ray
Man, that Fred Olen Ray gets around. Are you familiar with him? Because he’s directed over 100 films. Not that that means anything, of course, but it’s at least someone dedicated to making movies. And Active Stealth bears that 100-film history in the sense that it’s been made 100 times, much better, and much worse. Some military guys are doing some government work they don’t want to do when one of their guys gets kidnapped… and now thanks to some new STEALTH technology they get to go back for their man. What’s nice here that you have a lot of these reliable actors in digestible roles, with this seasoned DTV director, and so the movie doesn’t play around too much and gives you good enough explosions and chuckle-worthy dialogue and gets to the point. For that same reason it’s forgettable. But with these films you’re really just looking for something to pass the time, right? And that it does. Also: I now have to order this DVD again because a reviewer on IMDB states that the commentary is hilarious.
