13 Dead Men

2 out of 5

Director: Art Camacho

Well. Someone is trying to break someone else out of prison. Lorenzo Lamas is involved, though it seems like he just woke up and is drunkenly working through some martial arts. Mystikal is there, and even he realizes that this isn’t going to be a breakout film, because he only half-acts his scenes. It’s all shot with that kind of move-forward spartan workmanship that comes from people who helm these DTV affairs, and the production is also TV-movie comparable, with no wide shots or large sets to really wow you. But why do you care about being Wowed if you’re watching this film? So anyhow, the self-awareness of its own averageness is what gives it more than one star.
