Wow, the issues I had with the Music On Vinyl pressing of this are… nonexistent. Maybe the fidelity gets to go up when you have more room (this was issued as a 2xLP at 45RPMs versus a single 33RPM LP); maybe the Good Records folks have some better pressing plant or whatever happens… no clue. Maybe it was just the day of the week I listened to it; maybe I just got a great copy of this one and / or a poor copy of the MOV version. Whatever the case: I felt like my original CD experience was replicated, with some apropos “warmth” allowed for by the format – though, of course, that could also be my brain hearing what it wanted to hear.

Printing the album art “sideways” so you can unfold the cover image fully is a fun trick, and while I guess we technically lost some aspects of the original art (some liner notes imagery, vinyl labels), I’m okay with that if the replacements feel apropos for the reissue, and I feel like they do – the band photo’s background bleeding into the lyric sheet backing is cool, for instance.

Again, always possible my experiences here are not “real,” or affected by chance pressings, but I think if you’re picking up a vinyl copy of this album – or even if you already own it and we’re maybe, like me, a bit underwhelmed – this is a worthwhile double (or triple!) dip.
