Original review here, with this serving as a review of the remaster.
My take here is right in line with the other Bulbous Monocle remasters: Mark Gergis has done an excellent job of highlighting some aspects of the recording without sacrificing the appealing ramshackle nature of TFUL’s sound, and the label has kindly re-packaged all of the original bits – cover art, LP labels, liner notes – albeit on seemingly recycled cardboard for the cover, leading to a really murky looking reprinting. It’s the one (superficial) blemish in an otherwise wholly necessary revisit of this material, which fans should definitely give a listen to, as it’s unique enough to merit side-by-side comparisons, pluses and minuses of the productions absolutely subjective and arguably equal – just different.
