Label: digital, self-released
Produced by: Skullflower (?)
Pure Skullflower noise shimmers, haunting and mutating but in tone with the blue-colored artwork: it is a “cool” shimmer, not necessarily a harsh one. A distant and sometimes not distant guitar emerges, perhaps simulating the “howl” mentioned in the track’s description, and belonging to its titular Werecat.
The thread gets lost a little bit in the track’s middle – I know, a nonsense statement maybe when it comes to Skullflower – when that distant guitar becomes harder to track, but it returns for the conclusion, and the track actually has a small ramp-down, which is a nice change versus the typical hard stop.
