Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Micro Comic Fun Packs – Various

3 out of 5

I was going to review these individually – there’s one for each turtle – but owning two (it’s possible they’re being released piecemeal, and not all at once…), I’m pretty sure I get the gist.  Which is: a 5.5″ x 3.5″ (estimating here) reprint of an IDW Animated Turtles book – not really particularly focused on the Turtle highlighted on the cover, but whatever – a poster, 2 pog-like ‘sewer cap’ collectibles, and some stickers.  The stickers can be placed on an empty scene in the middle of the comic.  Besides what’s mentioned, here’s some “extra” content for those of us who care: The covers of the mini-books are actually these pretty snazzy wraparound images that I believe are unique, and the back of the books have a how-to-draw blurb – that’s surprisingly a few pages – dedicated to the featured turtle.

You could knock this down stars for being a money grab reprint, but you know, kids don’t care so much, and it’s the price of the original book (2.99) for a quality reprinting with sturdy pages (thicker stock than the original comic…) and some extras, so that ain’t so bad.  As usual with these things, if I’m trying to actually qualify a “fun pack” for ages 6+ by some other type of criteria…  Well.  I’m sure I’d be super cool.
