A well-drawn, Twilight Zone-ish lil’ tale of a dude who sees… a Clown in the Mirror. A clown with a knife to his throat. Killer clowns are scary, right? So he’s at his psychiatrist, preparing to face this hallucination…
It’s only 11 pages, so how much can you really say, but let’s highlight Chee’s art, for the perfect grayscale coloring / shading and just the right level of inking (not too heavy, not too sketchy) to match the tone of the strip, plus some really impressive framing to demonstrate how the man in the mirror functions. This is also an excellent, non-flashy representation of what digital can do well, as it’s traditional page by page, but the forced reveal that works in this format wouldn’t work near as well in a book. And Tom Peyer’s little story is interesting, to the point (womp), and of the classic horror mold. The only thing we could’ve asked for, MAYBE, is to string us along just a bit longer, ’cause that would’ve been fun.
