Some new blood makes more frequent appearances on these issues – Dave DeGrand, Travis Nichols – but the overall quality of the humor suffers, the title seemingly figuring out whether to lean into more “traditional” goofy SBob humor or the weirder, more meta stuff that really sets the book apart (in a positive way) from its peers.
Maris Wicks’ educational bits remain a solid standout, and the longer 22-pager in issue 28 ends abruptly, but shows the kind of 4th-wall tickling promise the title has. The issues also continue to use the pinup pages (and occasionally back cover) for more experimental stuff, which is great.
