I’m sure this gets funnier and funnier the more you watch it. Of the breed of P.C.U. type comedies that just grow on you, Grandmas Boy is a Happy Madison production (i.e. silly, harmless, gross jokes, Rob Schneider cameo, and obligatory and unbelievable girl and guy subplot) about video game tester Allen Covert getting kicked out of his apartment and having to stay with… Grandma. Is there a plot? Sure, sort of. Hes testing an important game, hes trying to get with a very attractive woman who just started with the company, and then late in the movie theres a climax and then a 7 months later type conclusion. But does it matter? Pot and masturbation jokes abound, but theyre funny, and everyone seems to be enjoying themselves, including the seniors. Its worth many chuckles, and some groans, and for some reason – probably due to how its all presented – even jokes about STDs from grandparents and accidentally ejaculating on mothers dont seem over-the-top. I laughed.
