Director: Joss Whedon

A simple pleasure, Dr. Horrible is everything that Joss Whedon does right boiled down to a lovely and compacy 43 minutes. I am not usually a fan of musicals, but its pulled off pleasingly well in this instance, thanks to the quirky storyline and cheeky performances by all of the leads: neil patrick harris, nathan fillion, and felicia day. Plot-wise – evil scientist falls in love with sweet girl who fall in love with the hero. Its mostly not surprising, except for some groovy dark turns here and there, but thats not the point. The point is to entertain, and this it does… thoroughly. Production is excellent, humor is laugh out loud, and everything is just enough to have weight but not be overwhelming. Recommended for anytime viewing.
