……………………….Adrenalin: Fear the Rush……………………….

Director: Albert Pyun

Wow. So I want to like Natasha Henstridge. And one of the dudes in this movie was in Highlander, so he gets rep points, right?

Adrenalin was weird.

The movie opens with a brief explanation, then jumps to a scene that shows the intensity of the virus that is “feeding the rush.” After ten minutes, I kept expecting them to cut away to a new scene, or something that builds some characters. Even something minimal, or generic. Nope, they show a picture of Christopher Lambert, and then we’re back to the same essential scene with the same players. So I wait ten more minutes… same scene. I check the running time: one hour, sixteen minutes. So you spend twenty minutes on an opening chase scene? Interesting. Uh… then it keeps going. Pretty much the whole movie is this one scene. And not the clever type where they weave some kind of plot into a big chase sequence… no, it’s just the same few people getting shot at and swearing, and the same shot of the creature, over and over again.

I don’t even think there was real dialogue, just “NO!” and some swear words. On the plus side, the camera makes some fun, unsteady movements – if at the behest of the director, it’d be interesting to follow their work to another movie – and it hides its low budget primarily well.  On the other plus side, none of that makes the movie interesting.  Boop.
