It seems like people moderatley knocked this disc for being slight, but really, that translates to “not enough Bogdan.” Yeah, it’s short, and the last two tracks are sort of scattered teasing for more, but again, that amounts to “not enough Bogdan.” This is otherwise prime stuff from the cut-up, drill and bass king, stretching – within single tracks – from his more playful, sing-song side to his aggressive BPM madness. The first three tracks form a nice triptych of this, opening on the slightly more chill Imperialist Takeover which gives way to the loose squiggles and childlike singing of Bombs Over Ibiza. Which is a feint: Bombs is a waiting game for its massive beatdrop in its latter half, but on subsequent listens it takes further shape, becoming a wholly enjoyable journey, and a great way to segue into the glorious ear-murder drill of Death To The Natives. After that, we get some compressed versions of the Samurai Math Beats type compositions; great stuff, but they leave you wanting / wishing Bogdan would let the beats ride longer.
I love me my Raczynski, and this disc is right up there with the rest of his consistently amazing catalogue.
