I know, it’s sort of balls of me to rate this higher than the album, given that half of its two songs is from that album, but Tancred’s bubblegum alternarock, as demonstrated in that album cut – Bed Case – is so slick and effective that, at twelve songs, it tends to fade into average background noise.  So isolating the music to some singles is a plus, but also the b-side – Hounds – is 99% rawer than anything on Out of the Garden that it actually leaves the lasting impression the other stuff doesn’t.  Its crunchy guitar and hissy production give it bite.

Would I want a whole album of that instead?  I DON’T KNOW!  But I like having it on a single.
