Rollerball – Companion 1 (The Good Samaritan)

This is some cutting room floor stuff.

As a semi-improv group, Rollerball is bound to litter some puzzle pieces here and there.  In the mid-00s, they apparently did a few free EPs alongside their Catholic Paws/Catholic Pause album, and based on the content, maybe you can consider the cause for that decision.  It’s cool, of course, to get extra material from any band of interest, but this really boils down to a single, bouncy, almost Pavement-y sounding track – New Red Kiss – and maybe the proceeding Tattle Tale, if only because it’s the longest song at 4 minutes, although it’s just some manipulated, somewhat annoying vocals with a drum beat and hiss.  Elsewise, the three other songs are minute snippets of tape chatter and fiddling.
