You can see here that I didn’t mind the first arc of Captain Canuck at all, and the very reason I checked it out was because of this here FCBD ish. But: I like my FCBDs to offer something new (which I know is mean, since the book accomplished its task of getting me interested in the series…), and thus I retroactively grumble over this offering as it turns out that everything from CC – the sincere “I love this character” not from Kalman; the first few pages; the character bios – all appear in the volume 1 TPB. Now that I’m stopping to consider things, those could be perks of the TPB and maybe not in the original issues… but damn, I’m already this far into my complaining.
Also includes a “Captain Canuck Case File” snippet – just meaning, I believe, taking place in the original canon and not the 2015 rebooted universe – by Ed Brisson, which is of about the same caliber as the regular series stuff.
Not bad; if you get it for free (i.e. digitally, like me), then go for it, I’m just docking the star to indicate it ain’t worth pay / tracking down a physical format if you’re a Canuck devotee.
