See You In Hell is a strange single for Stress Palace. Arguably not really a singles band – their music, to me, works best with songs sort of slapping against one another on an album – Hell has a single-able lyrical concept, but no real hook, it’s post-punk energy set at a steady, but not necessarily grabbing, pace and tone. That said, the track’s moodiness is a good match for industrial rockers All Clean, whose This Is A Deathwatch gives us a much, much heavier spin on something like Fotocrime – menace, swagger, and a more notable underlying hook versus SP’s track.
…Which I realize I’m ragging on, but should clarify that it’s a good performance (and a bit rawer sounding versus the eventual album version), just lacking in defining traits if you’re not already an SP convert.
